The objectives of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine (ECAWBM) are:

  • To elevate expertise in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law (AWSEL) and Behavioural Medicine in Companion Animals (BM) in Europe.
  • To be a leading referral resource in these two veterinary specialities.
  • To refine health care emphasis on AWSEL and BM, informing owners, professionals, and authorities, including European legislative bodies.
  • To champion specialized training and research in AWSEL and BM within veterinary schools.
  • To certify EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in AWSEL and BM to maintain utmost proficiency.
  • To shape post-graduate education with structured guidelines.
  • To drive continual advancements in AWSEL and BM, organizing related courses.
  • To champion sustainable and responsible practices in AWSEL and BM for all animals.
  • To prioritize research and knowledge-sharing in the field.
