European College of Aquatic Animal Health (ECAAH) Objectives: Advance the field of aquatic animal health, specifically focusing on animals that are cultured/maintained in captivity or in the wild, excluding marine or freshwater mammals, birds, and reptiles. Establish guidelines for post-graduate education, ensuring the elevation of skills of those practicing in aquatic animal health. Oversee the examination and certification of veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists® in Aquatic Animal Health. Enhance methods of graduate teaching, particularly through residency programs in aquatic animal health. Promote research, advancements, and continuous learning in aquatic animal health. Foster communication and the dissemination of knowledge related to aquatic animal health to both veterinary professionals and the wider public.

European Veterinary Dental College

European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC) Objectives: To foster research and elevate the proficiency of veterinarians in the art and science of veterinary dentistry. To establish guidelines for post-graduate education, guiding the pathway to becoming a  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Veterinary Dentistry. To administer examinations and certify veterinarians as EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Veterinary Dentistry. To advocate for communication, collaboration with national and international veterinary dental associations, and the dissemination of knowledge in veterinary dentistry.

European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition

The primary objectives of the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition (ECVCN) are: To enhance the quality of animal health care in Europe by fostering research in veterinary nutrition and raising the expertise of veterinarians in this speciality. To craft guidelines and standards for postgraduate education, guiding veterinarians towards achieving the title of  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Veterinary Nutrition. To administer examinations and certify veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Veterinary Nutrition, ensuring they maintain the pinnacle of professional standards. To stimulate communication, continuous education, and the dissemination of expertise in veterinary nutrition amongst veterinary professionals and the wider community, emphasizing the vitality of research and the latest advancements in the field.

European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine

European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ECLAM) The main goal of ECLAM is to enhance expertise in laboratory animal medicine. This is achieved by: Establishing graduate teaching methods, particularly through residency programs in laboratory animal medicine Training and certifying veterinarians as EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Laboratory Animal Medicine Setting guidelines for post-graduate education Championing improvements in laboratory animal welfare and medicine Organizing ongoing educational courses in laboratory animal medicine. European College of Porcine Health Management

The primary objectives of the European College of Porcine Health Management (ECPHM) are to advance porcine health management in Europe by enhancing the health and welfare of pigs, ensuring the production of safe and high-quality pork products for consumers, and bolstering the economic profitability of the sector through expert care, all while respecting the environment for sustainable agriculture. The ECPHM has set benchmarks for  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Porcine Health. The college is responsible for: Formulating methods for postgraduate teaching in porcine health management, primarily via residency programs. Training and qualifying professionals as specialists in porcine health management. Certifying veterinarians as specialists in the field. Setting standards for post-graduate education in porcine health. Championing advancements in porcine health management. Designing and offering continuous educational courses in the specialty. Encouraging research in porcine health and facilitating knowledge sharing.

European College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation

European College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ECVSMR) Objectives: To promote research and heighten the competency of veterinarians in the multidisciplinary specialty of veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation in Europe. This encompasses the comprehensive examination, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sport and work-related injuries/disorders, utilizing a holistic approach central to which are controlled exercise, functional training, and various therapeutic modalities. To establish guidelines for post-graduate education, serving as prerequisites for becoming a  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. To conduct examinations and certify veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. To bolster communication and knowledge dissemination about veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation among veterinary professionals and the broader public.

European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia

The primary objectives of the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) are: To enhance the study and practice of veterinary anaesthesia, analgesia, and intensive care in Europe through dedicated research and by bolstering the proficiency of veterinarians in these specialities. European College of Zoological Medicine

European College of Zoological Medicine (ECZM) Objectives: To promote research and elevate the proficiency of veterinarians in zoological medicine in Europe. To establish guidelines for post-graduate education, guiding the pathway to becoming a EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Zoological Medicine. To administer examinations and certify veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Zoological Medicine. To advocate for communication and the distribution of knowledge about zoological medicine, emphasizing the essential role of ECZM members in matters related to health, welfare, and biosecurity in zoological care, management, and medicine.

European College of Bovine Health Management

ECBHM strives to advance health-oriented bovine production management in the herd context in Europe and increase the competency of those who practice in this field by: Formulating guidelines and standards for postgraduate education and experience, setting prerequisites for becoming a EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Bovine Health Management. Certification: Authenticate and certify veterinarians as specialists in bovine herd health management. This ensures that cattle receive expert care and serves the interests of the cattle's owner, product consumers, and the broader public. Research & Knowledge Expansion: Champion research and other contributions in the domain of bovine herd health management. This encompasses: Animal husbandry Internal medicine, surgery, and obstetrics Reproductive management Topics related to the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and control of diseases impacting bovidae Fostering healthy and productive cattle herds Understanding the implications of bovine diseases and related pathogens on the quality and safety of bovine products Emphasizing herd health, production goals, cattle population management, and production systems. Veterinary clinical diagnostics includes particularly diagnostic imaging but also laboratory diagnostics and diagnostic tests in domestic animals. The applicant may be appointed as an Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure track) or as a full Professor, depending on their qualifications and career stage. All stages of the tenure track can be entered directly depending on the applicant’s career stage. The aim of the tenure track system is to grant tenure and a permanent position as a Professor.

Residency Position in Veterinary Behavioural Medicine (ECAWBM-BM) – Ghent University
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ghent University invites applications for a three-year Residency Training Programme in Behavioural Medicine, accredited by the EBVS® European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine – Behavioural Medicine subspecialty (ECAWBM-BM). The residency will be conducted under the direct supervision of Prof. Anouck Haverbeke, EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Behavioural Medicine.
The programme starts on 1 April 2026. The deadline for applications is 15 February 2026.
