Advanced Veterinary Practitioners
There are no advanced veterinary practitioners in Lithuania and continuing education is at present not compulsory.
Veterinary education
- The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas has been providing veterinary education in Lithuania for the last 75 years.
- Veterinarians graduate with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and can follow this with a Master of Science (MSc) degree after around 3 years of further study.
- Veterinarians use their qualifications as title and the title Doctor is reserved for individuals with a PhD degree.
Membership Organisations
- The Lithuanian Veterinary Association is the membership organisation for veterinarians in Lithuania. It is subdivided into sections such as small animal, large animal, general practice, etc.
