Dr Zullian graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Parma, Italy, in 2004. In 2010, she obtained a PhD in Veterinary Pharmacology at the same University and, shortly after, moved to Montréal, Canada, for post doctoral studies in Neuropharmacology (Université de Montréal). In 2014, Chiara started her journey in Laboratory Animal Medicine, with an ACLAM residency program at Université de Montréal, supervised by Professor Pascal Vachon and obtaining a DES (Diplôme d'études supérieurs) in Laboratory Animal Medicine in 2018. After over 10 years in Canada, Dr Zullian returned to Europe and gained professional experience both in France and Sweden, covering different roles within the Laboratory Animal Medicine field. Since 2021, Chiara is employed at Karolinska Institutet as Designated Veterinarian and she is also involved in educational activities, as Director and one of the instructors of the doctoral course in Anaesthesia, Analgesia and Surgery (mice and rats) at the same Institution. She is also involved in the co-supervision of an ECLAM resident, within the Scandinavian ECLAM program. Dr Zullian became a Diplomate of the European College of Laboratory Animal Medicine in 2022 and has a deep interest in aquatic animal medicine and other non conventional species. Outside Veterinary Medicine, Chiara is passionate of literature, as well as experimental music and cinema.
