The Small Animal Teaching Hospital of the University of Liège, Belgium offers a locum position (possibly extendable) for a Senior Soft Tissue Surgeon (without on-call duties). The position is available at your earliest convenience. Candidates are expected to have an ECVS/ACVS diploma or to be Board eligible (study time negotiable).
The Small Animal Teaching Hospital is a state-of-the art facility equipped with the most advanced equipment including fluoroscopy, 1.5 Tesla MRI, 64 slices CT scan, endoscopy, minimally invasive equipment to perform laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and arthroscopy, diode laser, urodynamic device, radiation therapy, a blood bank center, mechanical ventilation, among others. 
Case load for companion animals is around 15000 cases a year.
The current team includes diplomates in internal medicine (5 ECVIM-CA), surgery (3 ECVS), emergency and intensive care (1 ECVECC), diagnostic imaging (3 ECVDI), anaesthesiology (2 ECVAA), dermatology (1 ECVD), reproduction (2 ECAR), ophthalmology (2 ECVO), cardiology (1 ECVIM-CA cardiology), neurology (1 ECVN) and nutrition (ECVCN). The surgery service is committed to excellence in clinical service, teaching of professional veterinary students, and resident training. It includes 4 residents, 2 specialized interns, supported by a part-time assistant and rotating interns.
Candidates with research interests in soft tissue or oncologic surgery are encouraged to apply. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with faculty and students in a collegial manner is required. Applicants already speaking French (B2 level) will be preferred.
