To devise comprehensive post-graduate education guidelines essential for specialization in animal reproduction. To conduct examinations and qualify veterinarians as specialists to benefit the veterinary patient, owners, and the wider public. To promote research, knowledge expansion, and its dissemination in the field of animal reproduction.

European College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation

European College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ECVSMR) Objectives: To promote research and heighten the competency of veterinarians in the multidisciplinary specialty of veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation in Europe. This encompasses the comprehensive examination, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of sport and work-related injuries/disorders, utilizing a holistic approach central to which are controlled exercise, functional training, and various therapeutic modalities. To establish guidelines for post-graduate education, serving as prerequisites for becoming a  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. To conduct examinations and certify veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. To bolster communication and knowledge dissemination about veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation among veterinary professionals and the broader public.

European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Companion Animals

The primary objectives of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Companion Animals (ECVIM-CA) are: To champion advancements in companion animal internal medicine, cardiology, and oncology. This ensures continuous growth in research, innovation, and best practices in these specialized fields. To define clear and comprehensive guidelines for post-graduate education, ensuring that veterinarians are thoroughly prepared to specialize in areas of companion animal internal medicine, cardiology, or oncology. To diligently conduct examinations, subsequently certifying veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Companion Animal Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Oncology. This process ensures that only the most skilled and knowledgeable professionals attain this recognition. To cultivate a thriving community where knowledge sharing is paramount. This includes promoting research, facilitating specialized training programs, organizing continuing educational courses, and championing the dissemination of knowledge in companion animal internal medicine, cardiology, and oncology among veterinary professionals and the broader public.

European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine

The objectives of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine (ECAWBM) are: To elevate expertise in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law (AWSEL) and Behavioural Medicine in Companion Animals (BM) in Europe. To be a leading referral resource in these two veterinary specialities. To refine health care emphasis on AWSEL and BM, informing owners, professionals, and authorities, including European legislative bodies. To champion specialized training and research in AWSEL and BM within veterinary schools. To certify EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in AWSEL and BM to maintain utmost proficiency. To shape post-graduate education with structured guidelines. To drive continual advancements in AWSEL and BM, organizing related courses. To champion sustainable and responsible practices in AWSEL and BM for all animals. To prioritize research and knowledge-sharing in the field.

The primary objectives of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD) are: To elevate the standard of veterinary dermatology, emphasizing research and the continuous advancement of the field, ensuring the highest level of care for animals with skin conditions. To provide and uphold stringent guidelines for postgraduate education, directing veterinarians towards the revered title of European Veterinary Specialists® in Veterinary Dermatology. To oversee rigorous examinations and certify veterinarians as European Veterinary Specialists® in Veterinary Dermatology, validating their proficiency and commitment to the discipline. To foster open communication, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative learning in veterinary dermatology amongst veterinary professionals and the broader public, highlighting the pivotal role of research and knowledge dissemination in this specialty.

European College of Equine Internal Medicine

The primary objectives of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM) are to advance the level of expertise in care for horses, ponies, donkeys, mules and other equidae with medical diseases. The college’s purpose serves to advance equine internal medicine. The college oversees: Developing methods of graduate teaching in equine internal medicine, especially through residency programmes Training,  examining and certifying candidates for EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine Providing guidelines for post-graduate education Promoting advances in equine internal medicine, and  Developing and organising continuing educational courses in equine internal medicine Encouraging research and other contributions to knowledge relating to pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy, prevention, and its control of diseases directly or indirectly affecting equidae, Promoting communication and dissemination of this knowledge.

European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care

The primary objectives of the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ECVECC) are: To spearhead advancements in veterinary emergency and critical care, enhancing both research and the application of knowledge to elevate the caliber of emergency treatments and critical patient care within the veterinary community. To lay down comprehensive guidelines for post-graduate education and specialization in veterinary emergency and critical care, ensuring veterinarians are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this demanding field. To systematically conduct examinations, qualifying veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Emergency and Critical Care. This certification guarantees that they possess the advanced skills and expertise needed to provide exemplary care to animals in emergencies or requiring intensive care. European Veterinary Parasitology College

European Veterinary Parasitology College (EVPC) Objectives: To promote research and elevate the proficiency of veterinarians in veterinary parasitology, focusing on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy, and control of parasitic diseases impacting animals. To establish guidelines for post-graduate education, guiding the pathway to becoming a  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Veterinary Parasitology. To administer examinations and certify veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Veterinary Parasitology. To foster the development of a new generation of skilled and experienced veterinary parasitologists to meet Europe's future veterinary needs in teaching, diagnostic laboratory work, industry, and research, while also advocating for communication and knowledge-sharing in the field of veterinary parasitology.

European College of Veterinary Public Health

The primary objectives of the European College of Veterinary Public Health (ECVPH) are to: Advance veterinary public health, including subspecialties of population medicine and food science in Europe, while enhancing the expertise of practitioners. Establish guidelines for specialization in veterinary public health. Qualify veterinarians as  EBVS® European Veterinary Specialists in Public Health to serve diverse livestock populations and their owners, ensuring elevated service quality for the public. Promote research, knowledge, and communication in the veterinary public health domain.

University College Dublin Veterinary Hospital (UCDVH) is a leading multi-disciplinary, specialist, veterinary referral and teaching hospital located in the thriving city of Dublin in the east of Ireland, between the mountains and the sea. Small animal services include internal medicine (emergency and routine), critical care, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, oncology, anaesthesia and surgery (orthopaedics, neurosurgery, soft tissue surgery, minimally invasive techniques), as well as in-house rehabilitation and physiotherapy. We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive small animal oncologist, who is passionate about delivering clinical excellence in small animal oncology, is an excellent “team player” and has a strong interest in veterinary clinical teaching. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive, and growing team of highly trained specialists, residents, interns, veterinary nurses and support staff in our fully equipped hospital.
