Veterinary Specialist Recognition
Slovenia has had a College of Specialization for veterinarians since 2009.
The council includes members of the Slovenian Veterinary Chamber.
A veterinary specialist in Slovenia has to meet the requirements proposed by the Slovenian College of Specialization.
European Veterinary Specialists® are accepted and recognized as specialists by the College of Specialization and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicineat the University of Ljubljana.
Slovenian national veterinary specialization includes six subject areas (public health and food safety, small animal medicine, poultry health and production systems, buiatrics, exotic animal (birds, small mammals, reptiles) health and swine medicine).
Each discipline requires a 2-3 year training programme.
