Registration Open - HMA/EMA multi-stakeholder workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Dear academia, we are pleased to announce that the registration is now open for the upcoming HMA/EMA multi-stakeholder workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) - Enabling the safe and responsible use of AI, scheduled for Tuesday, 5 November 2024.


The workshop objectives are to:  

  • Update on state-of-the-art of AI developments with keynote speakers.
  • Update stakeholders on:
    • policy and legislative environment and the revision of the AI Reflection Paper, and discuss their impact;
    • HMA/EMA activities conducted under the multi-annual AI workplan.
  • Discuss with stakeholders and experts:
    • progress of the multi-annual AI workplan and possible updates;
    • AI use cases in the medicine lifecycle. 

In person participation
To ensure a balanced stakeholder representation and considering limited number of available places in the meeting room, we can accept participation of maximum 10 academic experts/researchers in total. The meeting participation expenses will be reimbursed by EMA for these 10 representatives as per Rules for reimbursement of delegates and experts. Each academic expert participating in person should represent an academic entity such as a college or university or a non-profit research institute. In person attendance is subject to EMA confirmation. Please do not make any travel arrangements before receiving EMA confirmation followed by official, personal invitation.

Online participation is open to all stakeholders. Please register by 25 October 2024 via the following link: register for virtual participation (Webex).

This option allows you to follow the workshop, listen to the presentations and discussions. No registration is required. A link to access the broadcast is available via the event webpage.
