Florence Poitout-Belissent is Scientific director in clinical pathology at Charles River in Montréal, Canada. She obtained her veterinary degree from the Veterinary School of Maisons-Alfort in France and completed her residency in clinical pathology at the University of Minnesota. She is diplomate of the American and European colleges of veterinary clinical pathology. She has practiced in veterinary clinics, diagnostic laboratories, and was consultant for contract research laboratories before joining CRL in 2005. She interprets clinical pathology data for nonclinical studies, she is in charge of an hemostasis platform offering specialized in vitro and ex vivo coagulation and platelet assays, and she takes part in the development and validation of new assays in clinical laboratories.
