Gabriele Rossi is a veterinary clinical pathologist with a strong interest in research and education.
Gabriele qualified from University of Milan (Italy) with a DVM in 2006. In 2007, he started a residency program in Clinical Pathology at the University of Milan in combination with a PhD. He was awarded with the PhD in 2010 and he finished the residency in 2013 attaining an ECVCP diploma.
Gabriele was appointed as post-doctoral fellow from 2011 to 2015 at University of Milan. Then, he joined Murdoch University in Western Australia as senior lecturer and he was promoted as associate professor in 2022. He is Head of Veterinary Pathology section within the School of Veterinary Medicine and Director of the veterinary clinical pathology diagnostic service within The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University.
Gabriele is very passionate about the educational side of his job and he coordinate both pre-clinical and clinical units within the School of Veterinary Medicine. He also provides continuing education courses for national and international veterinarians. He is member of the haematology exam committee of the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP).
Gabriele is an active researcher on different areas of clinical pathology including analytical validation, inflammatory and sepsis markers, acute and chronic diseases, and infectious diseases.
