I have worked at Acquario di Genova in Italy for 28 years (as veterinarian, then curator, then Director of Science and Veterinary services). In 2019 I moved to Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn (National public research center in Naples) to renovate, open and run the historical aquarium; I am also in charge of a national Sea turtle rehab center. Currently Director of Department of Conservation of aquatic animals and public engagement and Chair of the Animal Welfare committee of the Institute. I have a PhD and also specialization in aquaculture and aquatic animal and seafood management .
