Dr. Federica Rossi graduated from the University of Bologna with 110/110 cum laude in 1993 and received the “Rotary Degree Award” from the Rotary International Institute for the best academic curriculum in Veterinary Medicine of the year.
She started working in private practice alternating periods of training in diagnostic imaging in Italy and in other European countries. From 1995 to 1997, she attended the Specialization School of Veterinary Radiology at the University of Turin, obtaining the Diploma in 1997 with 70/70 cum laude.
In 2000 she spent a period of training in the radiology department at the University of Munich (Germany) working with radiology and CT.
Between late 2000 and 2003 she completed the residency in diagnostic imaging at the University of Bern (Switzerland) under the supervision of Prof. Johann Land and Prof. Luigi Pozzi and obtained the Diploma of European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2003.
Since 2003 she has been working at the Referral Center in Diagnostic Imaging (Sasso Marconi, Bologna) and is one of the founders and part of the team of the first Italian Veterinary Radiotherapy Centre (COV), located in Sasso Marconi - Bologna.
She is intensively involved in continuing education activities in Italy and Europe and has been invited as speaker at many international meetings.
Her dynamic scientific and editorial activity has led to more than 40 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and contribution to several radiology, ultrasound and CT books. In 2013, she chaired as Editor the “Manuale di Ecografia Veterinaria” (EV edition).
She is responsible of the SCIVAC Diagnostic Imaging Group, Master of the SCIVAC Ultrasound and CT Course and Lecturer many diagnostic imaging courses in Italy and Europe. She was Lecture at the Radiology Department of Pennsylvania Veterinary Faculty, University of Bern (CH) and University of Murdoch (WA), at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Pisa, Torino and Teramo (Italy).
Between 2006 and 2009, she was President of the European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (EAVDI) and between 2010 and 2013, President of the Italian small animal Association (SCIVAC).
In 2014, Federica Rossi received the prestigious carrier award “Fortunato Rao” from the Veterinarian Italian Council.
In 2017, she obtained the Academic Professorship Habilitation and in 2018 the ECVDI qualification in Radiation Oncology (Add-on).
Dr. Rossi’s main interests are Computed Tomography, Abdominal Ultrasound, Imaging in Oncology, with special research field regarding the application of ultrasound contrast media in small animals, and interventional radiology.
