
Prof. Daniela SCHWEIZER

Daniela Schweizer was born in the south of Germany (Friderichshafen) and studied veterinary medicine at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Ludwig- Maximilians- University Munich, where she graduated in 2001. From 2002- 2004 she worked as an assistant in a Clinic for Small animals, in Germany and performed her doctoral thesis at the same time at the University of Munich. In 2004 she moved to the Vetsuisse-Faculty Bern for the residency in diagnostic Imaging and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2007. After that, she first worked as a clinical instructor and later on as faculty in the Division of Clinical radiology in Bern and became an Assistant Professor in 2012.
From February 2015, she will be the Professor and Head of the Division of Clinical Radiology in Bern.
Her main research interest is Neuroimaging. She investigates the correlation of MRI signal and histopathological features of intracranial lesions. Furthermore, she investigates prognostic factors on the healing of dogs with intervertebral disc disease and is interested in the development of advanced imaging techniques in horses.
