Kevin S. Stepaniuk, B.Sc., DVM, FAVD, DAVDC®, DEVDC is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC), Diplomate of the European Veterinary Dental College, and is Co-owner of Pet Dental Specialists ( www.pdsvet.com ). He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Calgary, Canada, DVM degree from Oklahoma State University and completed a small animal internship at Washington State University. He worked in general and emergency practice before his specialty training in private practice (Pacific Northwest USA/Canada). He is a previous faculty member and section chief of Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the University of Minnesota, lecturer at Oklahoma State University and Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has worked in academia, large multidisciplinary specialty, emergency, and critical specialty hospitals, and is co-owner of an independent dentistry and oral surgery specialty practice. As an invited international and national renowned lecturer and instructor he is grateful to have the opportunity to travel and interact and learn about the profession. Dr. Stepaniuk is continued journal and textbook author as well as a reviewer for dentistry and oral surgery publications, medicine, and zoo and wildlife publications. He is past-Executive Board member and treasurer of the AVDC, AVDC appeals committee, AVDC job analysis leader, AVDC ad hoc committee chairs, and past-president of the AVDS. Dr. Stepaniuk works clinically full-time, leads an AVDC residency program, and provides continuing education to veterinarians, veterinary students, and technicians. He is a veterinary dentistry zoo consultant for regional zoos and aquariums in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
