I am a Postdoctoral scientist and a European Board-Certified Specialist in Poultry Veterinary Science at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, Vienna, Austria, with over 11 years of experience in infectious diseases and poultry health. My work has focused on virology, epidemiology, and molecular diagnostics, with projects tackling pathogens like fowl adenovirus, avian hepatitis E virus, fowlpox virus, parvovirus, and pegivirus. My journey started in my home country, Portugal, at ICBAS, University of Porto, where I obtained my Master's in Veterinary Medicine, and then I moved to Vienna, Austria, where I obtained my Ph.D. and, later on, completed the training and passed the examination of the European College of Poultry Veterinary Science.
