Dr. Käthe Elise KITTELSEN
Norway
EBVS® European Specialist in Poultry Veterinary Science
I am a Norwegian vet, living in Oslo. I finished my veterinary degree in 2007. After that I worked as a vet for companion animals before I started my PhD in 2013. The topic of my PhD was broiler welfare, end of lay- focusing on health at the end of the production period, catching, transport to the slaughterhouse and stunning. In 2017, I defended my thesis. After that I have worked with a range of different health and welfare topics in broilers, layers and breeders. I currently work in Animalia, which is the Norwegian meat and poultry research centre, owned by the industry. In addition, I work as an associated professor in poultry science at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences- the veterinary faculty. I started my residency training in the autumn 2020. Since there are no ECPVS diplomates in Norway, I have an alternative program.
