Bart Pardon graduated as a veterinarian from Ghent University (2007) and became a clinical assistant at the Department of Large Animal Internal Medicine Department of the same university. He completed his Ph.D on Morbidity, mortality and drug use in white veal calves with emphasis on respiratory disease (2012) and became a diplomate of the European College of Bovine Health Management (2016). Since 2020 he is associate professor in large animal internal medicine at the department of internal medicine, reproduction and population medicine of Ghent University. He leads the calf health UGhent research group focusing on respiratory health, sepsis and rationalisation of antimicrobial use by development of improved (rapid) diagnostics and decision support tools. In the ECBHM he actively contributed to the exam committee and to the development of the residents training platform.
