Florian Willmitzer was born in Vienna, Austria, and raised close to Vienna. He obtained his veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna in 2001. After his military service he worked in a big referral clinic north of Vienna with the main focus on diagnostic imaging. This was followed by 7 years working in the Radiology department at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna. The doctoral thesis was finished 2007 in the same department. 2012 he moved to Zurich for the participation and completion of the ECVDI Residency Program at the Vetsuisse-Faculty University of Zurich. Since 2017 he works in a private referral clinic near Zurich an does teleradiology.
