EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Bovine Health Management
Prof. Dr. Jacopo Guccione is a veterinary clinician and academic at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, where he is actively involved in teaching, clinical service, and research in food-producing animals, with a special focus on cows, Mediterranean buffaloes amd small ruminants. After completing his PhD (Doctor Europaeus label), he gained extensive international experience, at different Europeans Vetschools. He is a Diplomate of the European College of Bovine Health Management (ECBHM), reflecting advanced European specialization in bovine health management. His main research area is mastitis in dairy cattle and Mediterranean buffalo, including clinical and instrumental diagnostics, therapeutic and preventive strategies, and approaches to reduce antimicrobial use in intensive farming systems. His research interests also include herd health management, ultrasonographic diagnostics in ruminants, animal welfare, and Precision Livestock Farming technologies. He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences and has led or participated in several competitive research projects in collaboration with public institutions and private partners, contributing significantly to the advancement of bovine clinical and herd health management.
