Sandra Sevilla-Navarro, DVM, PhD, ECPVS Dipl., holds the position of Project Manager at the Centro de Calidad Avícola y Alimentación Animal de la Comunidad Valenciana (Spain) in the field of veterinary medicine. She obtained her degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at CEU Cardenal Herrera University in 2016. In 2020, received her International and Industrial Doctoral PhD degree, receiving the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. Additionally, she became a European Diplomate of the European College of Poultry Veterinary Science (ECPVS) in 2023. During her predoctoral tenure, she undertook international research stays at the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA) in Tours, France, and the University of Loughborough in the United Kingdom, enriching her expertise in phage therapy. Currently, she leads research collaborations with the agri-food sector, with a focus on bacteriophages as an innovative tool for controlling pathogens in poultry and swine production. She plays a pivotal role in regional and national projects aimed at developing bacteriophage-based solutions in conjunction with cutting-edge technologies. Furthermore, she has made significant contributions to European Horizon 2020 projects, including PhagoVet and Netpoulsafe, which aim to advance biosecurity techniques and reduce antibiotic use in animal production systems. Her research efforts have resulted in several international scientific publications, trade articles, research agreements, and talks at national and international congresses. In addition, she is an Associate Professor of Poultry Infectious Disease at the Veterinary Faculty of Health at UCH-CEU University and contributes as a lecturer in various master's programs, overseeing master's degree final projects and doctoral theses.
