Melania Moioli obtained her master degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy) in 2010 with a dissertation thesis entitled “Impiego della prototipazione rapida e della TC3D nello studio della lussazione mediale nel cane: esperienze preliminari” (“Employment of rapid prototyping and three dimensional computed tomography in the study of medial patellar luxation in dogs: preliminary experiences”).
She continued her education with a PhD program in Veterinary Sciences at the Università degli Studi di Milano, becoming Doctor of Philosophy in March 2014 with a research project entitled "Appearance of ossification centers of the limbs and skeletal development in new-born toy-dog breeds: radiographic, morphometric and histological analysis".
From 2011 to 2015 she worked as a freelance in different practices in the North of Italy taking care mainly of diagnostic imaging, internal medicine and emergency medicine and she visited different private clinics and Veterinary Faculties in Europe as external visitor in the radiology department (MRI Unit, Animal Health Trust, Newmarket (UK); Diagnostic Imaging division Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Vetsuisse Faculty Zurich (CH); Diagnostic Imaging division, Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Vetsuisse Faculty Bern (CH); Reparto di Diagnostica per Immagini dell’Istituto Veterinario di Novara (Italy)).
In July 2015 she joined the radiology team at the Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern, becoming assistant professor and resident of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. In 2019 she completed the residency program and started working as a clinical instructor at the Diagnostic Imaging division of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the Vetsuisse Faculty of Bern (CH). In February 2020 she became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.
She is author and co-author of scientific publications in veterinary medicine on Italian and international journals and presented her projects at different Italian and international veterinary medicine conferences.
