Graduated from Padova Vet School in 1997, I did all my postgraduate training (residency and PhD) in UK. I was awarded the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia in 2002, the ECVAA Diploma in 2003, the PhD in 2011, and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2021. After leaving my position of Assistant Professor in Italy, I worked as Clinical Anaesthetist at the AHT, Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Head of anaesthesia at Dick White Referrals, anaesthetist at Newmarket Equine Hospital. I also hold a part time Professorship at the University of Nottingham. I have served as officer of the ECVAA in various roles, including Chairperson of the Credentials and Education Committee, President, Past president. I have run the residency training programme based at DWR and Newmarket Equine Hospital from 2009 to 2022. I joined the World Council of Veterinary Anesthesiology after organising the 18th World Congress of Veterinary Anaesthesiology, held in Venice. Currently I work at Granta Veterinary Specialists, near Cambridge, where I am one of the founding partners.
