Robert Hermes heads CARES, A consultancy for wild animal assisted reproduction. He studied veterinary medicine at the Free University of Berlin, where he obtained his doctorate in 1998. He has been a senior scientist at Leibniz-IZW and a specialist in reproduction management and assisted reproduction until 2022. In 2013 he qualified as a Professor on wildlife conservation medicine at the University of Vienna. He is a Diplomate of the European College of Zoological Medicine.
