EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Small Mammal Medicine and Surgery
Jenna graduated from Edinburgh's Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies and initially spent several years working as a veterinary surgeon in general mixed practice. After returning to Edinburgh, Jenna completed a Senior Clinical Training Scholarship in Rabbit, Exotic Animal and Wildlife Medicine and Surgery. She is now the Head of Service for the University of Edinburgh's Rabbit, Exotic Animal and Wildlife Practice, leading her team of fellow specialists, as well as residents, interns and registered veterinary nurses (RVNs). Jenna became a European College of Zoological Medicine Specialist in Small Mammal Medicine and Surgery in 2019. She is also a Specialist of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in Small Mammal Medicine and Surgery. Jenna runs the ECZM Small Mammal Residency Programme at the R(D)SVS and currently supervises two residents, with her third already completing their training programme. She is also involved in Undergraduate student training, in her role as Course Organiser for the Undergraduate Exotic Animal Veterinary Medicine Curriculum at the University of Edinburgh, playing a key role in promoting the education of future vets in the field of exotic animals. Jenna has written several book chapters on a variety of different exotic animal species and has co-authored a book on Rabbit Medicine and Surgery. She regularly lectures worldwide to veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and students.
