Jean-Michel Hatt studied veterinary medicine at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and the University of Zurich (Switzerland). Following graduation, he worked at the Clinic of Zoo Animals, Exotic Pets and Wildlife at the University of Zurich and at the Royal Veterinary College at the University of London (United Kingdom) where he obtained a Master of Science in Wild Animal Health. From 2001 - 2023, Dr. Hatt was Head of the Clinic of Zoo Animals, Exotic Pets and Wildlife and Chief Veterinarian of the Zurich Zoo, since 2023 he is Clinical director of the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Zurich. Jean-Michel Hatt is a Diplomate of the American College of Zoological Medicine and a Diplomate of the European College of Zooogical Medicine (subspeciality avian). His main research focus is avian surgery and diseases related to nutrition in zoological medicine.
