EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Zoo Health Management
I graduated from the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Brno, Czech Republic I completed my national specialization in exotic animals in Slovenia and became the Head of the Veterinary Department in ZOO Ljubljana and animal shelter in 2015. Two years later I became a De facto Diplomate of the European College of Zoological Medicine (Zoo Health Management). I have finished my PhD on infectious diseases monitoring in zoo animals in 2016 at the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Brno. Me and my collegues provide veterinary support for conservation projects on Lynxes, Bears and Wolves in Slovenia, and I am an EEP vet advisor for the Eurasian Lynx. My main focus of interest is the monitoring of infectious diseases, preventive health care in zoo animals and non-invasive blood sampling. Currently I am supervising the Red Panda Amdoparvovirus project.
