I hold the European Diploma in Zoo Health Management and am currently the Head of Veterinary Services to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, the conservation wildlife charity that owns Edinburgh Zoo and the Highland Wildlife Park in Scotland UK. I am a past President of the European College of Zoological Medicine and the British Veterinary Zoological Society. I chair and am a member of a number of UK and Scottish Government committees advising on wild and captive animal health and welfare. I also hold honorary and visiting professorships with the University of the Highlands and Islands, and the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh
