I graduated in veterinary medicine at the University of Bern, Switzerland in 2013. Thereafter I completed a two-year rotating internship in small animal medicine at the Small Animal Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the University of Bern (2014-2016) and worked then as a research assistant at the Epidemiology of Highly Pathogenic Microorganisms Group at the Robert Koch Institute, Berlin, Germany (2016). In 2017, I was enrolled in the three-year Wildlife Population Health residency program at the Centre for Fish and Wildlife health (FIWI), University of Bern, completing a doctoral thesis concerning sarcoptic mange in wildlife (2017-2019). After successfully sitting the European College of Zoological Medicine (ECZM) qualifying board examination in 2020, I became a Specialist in Wildlife Population Health as an ECZM Diplomate.
