Jules Simard graduated with honours from the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ghent University, in 2016 where he received his Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine. He completed a rotating small animal internship followed by a ECZM residency training program and passed the examination for board certification as a Diplomate of the European College for Zoological Medicine (Herpetology) in 2021. He currently works in a small animal and exotic private practice in Belgium.
