EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Wildlife Population Health
Gudrun Wibbelt is a veterinary wildlife pathologist at the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW). After graduating at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Hanover University, she became a veterinary pathology resident at Liverpool University, UK. In 2002 she moved to Berlin and began to work at the IZW and since she is involved with pathological investigations on captive and free-ranging wildlife. Her research interests include wildlife infectious diseases particularly concerning small mammals like bats or squirrels. In 2014 she was accepted by the European Board of Veterinary Surgeons as a Diplomat of the European College of Zoological Medicine, Wildlife Population Health speciality.
