Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Bologna with a thesis on "Hip Dysplasia in Dogs." He specialised in Veterinary Radiology at the University of Turin with a thesis on "Kodak Insight in Canine Thoracic Radiology." Resident Prize at the EAVDI/ECVDI European Congress, Murcia 2002, for best presentation on: “CT-guided biopsies in the skeleton. To date, author/coauthor of 292 scientific papers, of which 143 published in journals. Diplomate of the European College of Diagnostic Imaging (Dip. ECVDI). Editor and/or coauthor of the books: “Radiologia del cane e del gatto”, Poletto Editore, 2005, “Veterinary Computed Tomoghraphy”, Edited by Tobias Schwarz and Jimmy Saunders, Wiley-Blackwell, 2011, “Manuale di emerge soccorso e traumatologia nei piccoli animali”, Viganò, Elsevier Edition, 2013, 2025, “Atlas of Diagnostic Imaging of the Dogs and Cats”, Massimo Vignoli, John Graham, EDRA, 2022, and Italian Edition, 2023. President of the Italian Society of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (SVIDI) 2001-2004. Adjunct Professor at the University of Naples, 2007-2009. Lecturer at Specialisation Schools or Masters at the Universities of Pisa, Camerino, and Naples. He obtained the Academic title of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences (PhD) at the University of Ghent, 2010. He has participated in several PhD committees as an international member at the Universities of Ghent and Liège. Member of several Committees of the ECVDI College. In 2011-13, member of the Board of the ECVDI College. Full Professor at the University of Teramo. He obtained the international certification of the GRSK as a scrutiner of hip and elbow dysplasia. Graduated in Physical Education and Sports in November 2018.
