Giacomo is an American, European, and RCVS Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. He graduated from the University of Bologna and, following a period at the University of Pennsylvania, completed his Emergency and Critical Care training at the Royal Veterinary College, London. After working as a staff clinician with the University of Edinburgh, he completed a PhD on mitochondrial dysfunction in sepsis with the UCL Bloomsbury Institute for Intensive Care Medicine. He joined DWR Veterinary Specialists as an ECC consultant in 2020 and is currently joint Head of the ECC Department. His areas of interest include clinical research, sepsis, haemodynamic monitoring and advanced life support.
