Associate professor of small animal Emergency and Critical Care in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University, USA. After graduating in 2008 from the University of Bern, Switzerland, Dr. Wurlod completed a small animal rotating internship and an Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) internship at the University of Bern. She then completed an ECC residency at the University of Illinois, USA. She became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2015, and a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2016. After a year in private practice in United Kingdom, she joined Louisiana State University in November 2016. After spending 8 years at LSU, she moved back to Switzerland and joined the team of specialists at VetSpecialistes, close to Geneva. Her interests include transfusion medicine, renal replacement therapies and the use of intravenous lipid emulsion to treat intoxications.
