Claudia Iannucci is a Clinical Instructor in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Zurich. She graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Alma Mater Studiorum in 2012. After working in a small animal clinic in Prato (Italy), she moved to Vienna in October 2012, where she completed a one-year assistantship in Small Animal Surgery followed by a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Vetmeduni Vienna.
In January 2015, she began a 16-month specialized internship in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Bern, which was followed by a three-year residency program. During this time, she also completed her doctoral thesis titled “Comparison of an isotonic crystalloid solution versus a 6% hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 on hemostasis in canine spontaneous hemoperitoneum.”
Since October 2019, Claudia has been based in Zurich, where she became both an ACVECC and ECVECC Diplomate and completed a two-year fellowship in extracorporeal therapy (2020–2022) under the supervision of Dr. Vigani, DACVAA, DACVECC, DECVECC. Beyond yoga and running, her interests include hemodynamics, fluid therapy, acute kidney injury, acute toxicology, and extracorporeal therapies in small animals. She lives in a cozy wooden-floored apartment near the Letten in Zurich, which she shares with her adorable rescued German Shepherd.
