EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care
Graduated in veterinary medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 1995. Internship at the Hospital Clinic Veterinari of the UAB during 1996. Private clinical practice with special dedication to emergency and intensive care medicine until 2006, when he joins the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) as Associate Professor of the Animal Medicine and Surgery Department and Head of the Emergency and Intensive Care Service (SUMI) of the FUAB-HCV. Master in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Health by the UAB in 2009 and Doctor in Medicine and Animal Health by the same university in June 2014. Since 2015, he directs the Master in Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care of Small Animals at the UAB. He is also accredited as a lecturer by AQU since 2020. Member of IVECCS (International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society) and EVECCS (European Emergency and Critical Care Society) since 2002, he has been a member of the Standards of Practice Committee until 2016. Since 2021 he is also graduated from the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and participates as a supervisor in the residency program of the same European specialty college. Author of multiple publications, books, presentations and communications in congresses, both national and international in the specialty, his main areas of interest are the evaluation of acid-base balance and the inflammatory response in the critically ill patient.
