Dr. Juliette HORDEAUX
United States
EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Pathology
I oversee discovery and translational research at Gemma biotherapeutics, a new company funded by Jim Wilson that aims to accelerate the development and global access of gene therapies for rare diseases.
I am a DVM, board certified in Pathology (ECVP), and received my PhD from the University of Nantes where I specialized in in vivo gene therapy. I have worked in the translational AAV gene therapy field for more than a decade. While at the Gene Therapy Program, University of Pennsylvania, I led a cross-functional team of scientists investigating AAV therapies for rare monogenic disorders, from POC to 5 successful IND filings. My special research interests are AAV-mediated toxicity, investigative pathology, mechanism of actions, and ways to develop safer gene therapy modalities.
