Hanne Jahns qualified as Veterinary Surgeon from Ludwig-Maximilian-University, Munich, Germany in 1996. She started in large animal private practice in Ireland and continued her education in UCD as a clinical research associate completing a MVM. After some time in large animal practice in Germany she returned to UCD to conduct a PhD while employed as a Research Officer in the Department of Veterinary Pathology with the Department of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries in the Central and Regional Veterinary Laboratories. In 2009 she joined UCD as a lecturer in Veterinary Pathology and was awarded tenure in 2012. Since February 2012 Hanne is also a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists. In 2020, she completed her Professional Diploma in University Teaching and Learning at UCD and a year later she was promoted to Associate Professor.
