Conceição Peleteiro, was born in Lisbon in 1954. In 1976, she obtained a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the School of Veterinary Medicine, now Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FMV) of the University of Lisbon (UL). In 1987, she obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom. From 1996 to 2021, she was a Professor at FMV in the discipline of Pathological Anatomy, having retired as a Full Professor. She was Vice-Rector of the Technical University of Lisbon (1996-1999 and 2011) and Vice-President of the Foundation for Science and Technology (2003-2004). Research Areas – Veterinary pathology: Oncology (bladder and skin neoplasms). She is a member of the European College of Veterinary Pathology since 1996. She is a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon.
