Sabina Soldati graduated in veterinary medicine in 1999 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Milano, Italy. In 2000 she was enrolled in a combined residency/PhD program partly performed at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Milano, Italy and partly at VETSUISSE-Faculty, University of Bern, Switzerland obtaining in 2005 her ECVP diploma and her PhD degree in comparative pathology, with a PhD thesis titled “MMTV-neu transgenic mouse as a model of human breast cancer”. After obtaining her postgraduate degrees, she worked at the Institute of Animal Pathology, VETSUISSE-Faculty, University of Bern, Switzerland as Clinical Instructor in Anatomic Pathology. In 2006 she joined the Drug and Safety Evaluation Department of Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceutical Company, Vitry-sur-Seine, France as Toxicologic Pathologist. From 2008 until 2019 she worked for IDEXX-Diavet, Division of IDEXX Laboratories, Bäch, Switzerland as Veterinary Pathologist. From 2018, besides her work at IDEXX, she started a collaboration with the Mouse and Animal Pathology Laboratory (MAPLab), Fondazione UNIMI, University of Milano, Italy where she was involved in the supervision of students’ education, evaluation of discovery and toxicity studies in laboratory animals and immunohistochemical evaluation of diagnostic cases on companion animals. From 2020 to present she is an independent consultant and associate of Pathology Experts GmbH, Witterswil, Switzerland, contributing to the development of machine learning/artificial intelligence (AI) projects for digital pathology and to discovery and toxicologic pathology projects.
