EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Pathology
I am a veterinary researcher at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), currently involved in a project focused on immunotherapy for canine mammary cancer. I am a member of a research group specialized in comparative oncology and endocrinology in domestic and wild animals.
I obtained my degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of León in 2014. During my training, I participated in the Erasmus programme at the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy) and completed pathology internships in Veterinary Anatomical Pathology at the Università degli Studi di Bologna (Italy) and University College Dublin (UCD, Ireland).
I completed a three-year residency in Veterinary Pathology accredited by the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP) at UCM, and I have actively participated in national and international congresses organized by the ACVP, ECVP, and SEAPV. I also gained valuable experience at the Pathology and Veterinary Forensic Service of the Veterinary Health Surveillance Centre (VISAVET).
I hold a PhD in Veterinary Sciences from UCM and have authored and co-authored several scientific publications focused on canine mammary cancer. My main research interests include the diagnosis and characterization of mammary tumors in domestic animals, with a particular focus on inflammatory mammary carcinoma. In addition, I contribute to routine diagnostic biopsy reporting within the department, particularly in cases related to mammary oncology, including work at the Mammary Oncology Unit of the Hospital Clínico Veterinario Complutense (HCVC).
I am an ECVP Diplomate and a member of the ECVP College, reflecting my commitment and expertise in veterinary pathology. I am currently working at the Gasset Diagnostic Laboratory (Granada, Spain) reporting domestic animal biopsy cases.
