Eva qualified as a vet from the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna in 2014, followed by three-year-post-graduate doctoral studies, focusing on anatomic ocular adnexal structures of bird eyes and immunohistochemical characteristics of the equine corneal epithelium. Eva moved to the Netherlands in 2018 to complete a residency program in Anatomic Pathology at the University of Utrecht. This included necropsies of zoo and wildlife, as well as companion and large animals. During her residency, Eva also had the chance to develop further her interest and expertise in ocular pathology. In 2023 Eva passed 4 parts out of 5 during the the ECVP (European College of Veterinary Pathologists) exam.
