Jacques Guillot graduated from the Veterinary College of Alfort (EnvA), France in 1991. He completed his training in Medical Mycology at Pasteur Institute, Paris. His PhD was about the classification of Malassezia yeasts from humans and animals. He is a Diplomate of the European Veterinary Parasitology College (since 2003) and his entire career has been as a teacher at EnvA from 1991 to 2021, and now at the veterinary college of Nantes (Oniris VetAgroBio). Jacques Guillot has been a corresponding member of the French Academy of Medicine since 2008 and a full member of French Veterinary Academy since 2018. With physicians and other veterinarians, Jacques Guillot created in 2014 a research group devoted to the study of microbial interactions within the respiratory or cutaneous microbiota and their consequences on colonization, infection, therapeutics and resistance to anti-infectious drugs in humans and animals. He is one of the founding members and still the coordinator of the ISHAM Veterinary Mycology and One Health working group. His research interests include taxonomy, ecology and evolution of fungal pathogens and parasites, development of animal models of infectious diseases and development of new therapeutic options for fungal or parasitic infections in humans and animals. Jacques Guillot contributed to the description of several original clinical cases of animal mycoses or parasitoses.
