Professor Elias Papadopoulos graduated (1988, DVM) from the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and carried out postgraduate studies (1992 MSc and 1997 PhD) on the field of veterinary parasitology in Liverpool and Thessaloniki.
He is the Head of the Laboratory of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases of the School of Veterinary Medicine in Thessaloniki. He teaches to the veterinary students the subjects (theory and practical training) of Parasitology, Parasitic Diseases and Bee Medicine.
His research interests include various aspects of animal parasitic diseases, such as vector borne diseases, epidemiology, evaluation of treatment protocols and efficacy of antiparasitic drugs.
He has been involved in several national and international research projects on the field of parasitic diseases of domestic (Companion and farm) animals and wildlife. He is supervising several PhD students in the field of parasitic diseases.
He has delivered invited keynote lectures and research findings in several scientific conferences. He has published various original research and review papers in peer reviewed scientific journals, alone or with co-authors from different research institutes.
