She was born in Brindisi on November 14th, 1961.
1987-Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pisa (Italy).
1987- License to practice Veterinary Medicine in Italy (University of Pisa, Italy).
May 1987 to January 1995- Veterinary Practitioner for pet animals.
1991-Specialist in "Animal Health and Hygiene of Animals Breeding and Animal Productions" (University of Pisa, Italy).
December 1995 to December 2001- Researcher in Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases at Pisa University.
1996-PhD in "Diseases of Small Ruminants" with a PhD Thesis entitled “Pharmacological Activity of Natural Compounds against Ectoparasites” (University of Pisa and Milan, Italy).
2001- Associate Professor of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases at Pisa University (Italy).
2003 to date-De facto member of the European Veterinary Parasitology College (EVPC/EVBS).

Research Topics: biology, epidemiology, diagnosis, and control of parasites of domestic, wild, exotic, pet and farmed animals; evaluation of the anti-parasite efficacy of natural compounds on parasites.
