Dr. Biourge graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Liège (Belgium) in 1985. He stayed as an assistant in the nutrition department for 2 more years before moving to the Veterinary Hospital of University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA) and latter to the Teaching Hospital of the University of California (Davis, USA) as a PhD/resident in Clinical nutrition. In 1993, he got his PhD in Nutrition from the University of California and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Nutrition. In 1994, he joined the Research Center of Royal Canin in Aimargues (France) as head of scientific communication and nutritionist. From 1999 to 2007, he has been in charge of managing the nutritional research programs of Royal Canin. In January 2008, he has been appointed as the Health & Nutrition Scientific Director. He authored and co-authored more than 125 scientific papers, wrote several book chapters and was the editor of 2 clinical nutrition books. He has been an invited speaker at veterinary and medical forum worldwide.
