Cristian graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Perugia in 2001. Until 2003, he worked as a private practitioner between Umbria and Tuscany, collaborating with the Department of Surgery at the Perugia Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. From 2004 to 2007, he completed a residency in Neurology at the Valdinievole Veterinary Clinic (PT), with Dr. Massimo Baroni. In 2006, he traveled abroad for continuing education, and in 2007, he passed the exam and graduated from the European College of Veterinary Neurology (ECVN) in Bern. He is the author of national and international reports and publications on veterinary neurology. Since 2004, he has been a member of the European Society of Veterinary Neurology (ESVN) and the Italian Society of Veterinary Neurology (SINVet), of which he was president from 2017 to 2021 and is currently past president. He was also a member of the examining committee of the European College of Neurology from 2020 to 2023. From 2007 to 2010, he worked as neurologist at the Valdinievole Veterinary Clinic, with a particular interest in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) applied to neurology. From 2010 to 2012, he worked as a clinical neurologist and neurosurgeon at the Davies Veterinary Specialists referral center in the UK. Since 2012, he has worked as a referring neurologist and neurosurgeon at the Diagnostica Piccoli Animali clinic and at the Vet-Rad Firenze clinic, of which he is also a founding member. He also works as an external consultant for several italian neurology centers. He has published in national and international journals on veterinary neurology, and is an expert speaker at numerous conferences worldwide, focusing primarily on neurosurgery, particularly spinal surgery. He is also passionate about magnetic resonance imaging applied to neurology. He currently serves as vice president of the Italian Society of Companion Animals (SCIVAC).
