Adam graduated from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), London in 2007. Working initially in referral exotic animal practice he quickly completed the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons’ Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in Zoological Medicine. In 2011, Adam moved to the USA to undertake an internship in wildlife medicine at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. This was followed by a Masters of Wild Animal Health back in the UK at the RVC and Zoological Society of London, London Zoo. After a second internship in Zoological Medicine in 2013 at Bristol Zoo Gardens, Adam joined the veterinary department of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), Edinburgh Zoo as the first European College of Zoological Medicine Resident in Zoo Health Management in the UK. In 2018 Adam successfully passed the American College of Zoological Medicine Board Examinations and continued to work for the RZSS as an Associate Veterinarian, providing veterinary services to RZSS Edinburgh Zoo, RZSS Highland Wildlife Park, and numerous field conservation projects based in Scotland and abroad. In 2022, Adam joined the veterinary department of Auckland Zoo, New Zealand, where he works with a diverse zoological collection and native New Zealand wildlife species.
