I am a board certified veterinary anaesthesiologist passionate about patient safety and aspects related to culture/climate within veterinary organisations. I strive to create a safe environment where my team feels psychologically safe to speak up when they are concerned, uncomfortable, or is a patient safety issue. Psychological safety promotes voice and learning behaviour. I currently work at the University of Glasgow as a senior clinician in veterinary anaesthesia. I love using simulation to create a safe learning environment in which students, residents and interns can practise clinical and non-clinical skills without the fear and stress that may result from exposure to confronting conditions.
