Associate Professor in Infectious Diseases (VET05) at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences, University of Bolognas holds the courses of Infectious Diseases of Aquatic Animals and Veterinary Microbiology and Immunology at the Aquaculture and Fish product Hygiene Bachelor Degree Course. She conducts her research in the field of infectious diseases of animal with particular interest in viral diseases of aquatic animals and fish immune response. She is currently involved in projects focusing on the development of diagnostic techniques to detect fish pathogenic viruses, on the identification and characterization of pathogenic agents responsible for disease outbreaks and mortality, on the improvement of control methods to mitigate infectious disease impact and on the study of the expression of key genes of the immune response. Engaged in national and international research projects, she collaborates with Italian and foreign Institutes. Author of more than 150 publications (articles, abstracts and book chapters) in national and international scientific journal, including 57 peer-reviewed indexed (WOS/Scopus) publications.
