Jan Govaere graduated in 2000 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Department of Large Animal Medicine, Obstetrics and Herd Health) at Ghent University. In addition to numerous locum positions in Belgium and France, he completed an internship and residency in the Department of Reproduction, Obstetrics and Herd Health at the same faculty. In 2005, he obtained the title of Certified Equine Practitioner and became a Diplomate of the European College of Animal Reproduction (Equine Reproduction). He subsequently further specialized at the Royal Veterinary College in London. He is currently Head of the Clinic for Equine Reproduction and Obstetrics, where he contributes to clinical services, teaching, and research in equine reproduction. Dr. Govaere is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, served as editor and producer of the educational DVD FoalinMare, and is the editor and driving force behind the learning platform Vetflix Academy.
